Judy Byykkonen described her hike along Gardner’s Creek Nature Trail as beauty all around us. She said she felt like she was at an art show made of ice. She sure captured some unique ice art, that’s for sure. If you’re unfamiliar with this nature trail, it’s a mile long interpretive path located in the CLK School Forest. You can find it across from the Calumet Waterworks Park. Hiking there you will find maintained forest paths and even a small cascade, Gardner’s Falls, along the trails. Pets are allowed, but they have to be kept on a leash. That’s one of the reasons Judy goes there, to take her dogs for walks. Although, she said this hike was quite icy and she wished she had remembered her cleats.
We head further UP North, to Eagle River, where Cathy McKenzie recorded a video of Eagle River Spring flow into Lake Superior. It looks to be running pretty swiftly right now.
