I had no idea the commercial ferry access to Mackinac Island was so frequent during the winter months, 3 times a day except Sundays. I knew about the snowmobile access when/if the lake freezes over sufficiently but I'd always envisioned living on the Island during the winter was a bit like staying at the "Overlook Hotel" except with more legroom.
What a great time to avoid all the pedestrian, bike, and horse drawn traffic jams and Island grid-lock. Just kidding... sort of. Very nice video with great views of so many places with very few people. Not to mention when you do accidentally step on some horse road apples they'll hopefully be frozen, just watch out for the rising steam and you'll be OK.
Spring is trying to bust out "down" here but we had a couple inches of sloppy wet stuff yesterday.
