Barbara Bouwkamp was patiently waiting for the sunrise, but only saw bits and pieces of it. Actually, looking at her photos, I think she found a treasure this particular morning, because the sunrise was somewhere there behind the clouds and just peeked out at various times, creating sky streaks on Lake Superior’s calm morning waters. What wonderful captures of a different kind of sunrise and a beautiful look at the Big Lake in all her calmness on a November morning. Unusual for our days around here lately, as the wind has been whipping Superior into a frenzy quite regularly the past month or so.

Enjoy the calmness while you can. Our video look was filmed at the beginning of November, with an up close look at Lake Superior. Again, not your typical view of the Big Lake this time of year, as it actually looks like it could be a summer view. And only 29 shopping days 'til Christmas ;)

We have had hypothermia weather here downstate
(Jackson, MI), with none of the beautiful scenery.
