When the sun is rising across Portage Entry from Taana Blom’s home, she knows there’s no time to waste as the scene changes by the minute. So she grabs her camera or phone and races out the door to snap photos like the two today. That first one is something else with the sun just bursting through the clouds like that, reflecting on the water for double the brightness, double the beauty. What a great capture!

Taana’s second shot is another dandy. The sky is so many different shades as the sun begins to make its appearance for another Keweenaw day and the moon is just a sliver in the sky. So many things I like about this photo, including the silhouette of the barn roof against the morning dawn. Such a great way to start the day!
