Great description, actually, one that I can’t improve upon.
So, instead of adding more words, I’ll just add this video from Keweenaw National Historical Park giving us an almost live view of dense fog on the Portage Canal. It’s a phenomenon that happens several times a year. Who thought fog could be so fascinating...

These pictures are mesmerizing. I got fog pictures of the bridge a few years ago. But these are better. Thanks for sharing.
