When someone mentions a breakfast buffet on the north shore of the Keweenaw Peninsula, with a great view of Lake Superior, today’s menagerie of fowl friends, probably isn’t what you’d picture. But what a great series of shots George C. Bailey captured this past week. Kind of looks like the two Bald Eagles did all the work catching the fish and the mooching seagulls and ravens are hovering and hanging around to see if they can snag a bite or two, also.

Check out the first photo, you can see the fish in the talons of both Eagles, but especially the one higher in the air yet. George says the birds are quite skittish, so he tries to stay at a distance to get photos like this. He has a dandy lens to zoom in that close and catch a series of action shots that make you wish you were there to hear all the squawking going on.

Nancy Haun recorded a video about a month ago, of an Eagle nest in Skanee, with a pair of Eaglets and Mom busy feeding them. She said she just stopped to check out the Eagle and was lucky enough to get the two Eaglets in the video, too.

Too cool!

From the flight of the seagull
Come the spread claws of the eagle.

Will you still know who you are,
When you come to who you are?

Can you live on a knife-edge?

GEORGE...go to the top of Brockway and catch the
birds of prey "Kettling"....that's when they play
in the updrafts and it is beyond cool to watch!

Been watching Eagle Documentaries. A heckuva cool
bird!

Omgosh how lucky is he to get these pictures.
What I wouldn't give to be there to capture
these. Thanks so much for sharing them.
