Even with the “social distancing” restrictions, we are still encouraged to get outdoors and get some exercise and fresh air, just make sure it’s in small groups and you keep the required distance. Laurie Bashaw and her hubby, Ed, went out to the Picnic Rocks in Marquette for their exercise recently and it looks like the only one they encountered was a seagull flying by, which kept its distance. The rocks out in the water are still iced over and so is the beach area, as you can see from Laurie’s photos. I especially like the last shot, with the iced UP branches. Nature sure does create beauty around us, no matter the season.

Brita Haapala’s daughter demonstrates the best technique for snow/ice skipping on the thin ice in Copper Harbor. Looks like a great pastime while the kids are off school... in small groups of course.
