96 hours ago, the day started out with rain and by later morning, early afternoon, turned to big, wet snow flakes, which covered the dirty snowbanks that are normal for spring here in the Keweenaw. Joe Kirkish made his usual drive to the Bluffs in Houghton, encountering these scenes along the way. The first two photos are trees on the hill above the Bluffs. The snow clinging to the branches makes for some interesting patterns for sure, especially in the first shot. I have to admit it did “pretty UP” the landscape again, as the warmer temperatures we had been experiencing was melting the winter accumulation and that always makes for “dirty” looking snow on the sides of the roads. Truthfully, though, I was OK with that. The weather caused a 2 hour delay for schools on Friday morning, which quickly turned into a “snow day” for our area schools, so the mandatory school closings in Michigan actually began a day earlier than the Governor had implemented.

Bob Gilreath recorded a video of the falling snow in his back yard and he made a good point, when he said this would look great in November, but not in March. I hear the forecast says we may get another storm this coming Thursday/Friday.

With all the closings and cancellations due to the Corona Virus, you can still count on the Pasty Cam being here for you to keep up to date on the scenery around the U.P., as long as we keep getting photographs from our Pasty Camists. That’s the beauty of the Internet, we’re already practicing “Social Distancing”. Stay safe, stay healthy and wash your hands.

Nice pix and video. The nice part is that it is almost over.

Nice Pics but...
I hate snow. I've had enough for a lifetime now.
I hate driving in it.
I hate shoveling it. I especially hate shoveling this "Spring time" snow because it can be so wet and heavy.

Did I mention I hate snow!

I love the U.P. though. All good things come with a cost I guess.

What snow? We have had a total of about 4 inches so far this winter. Used the scientific method for removal. Just let it melt. 10 day forecast is for rain the next 8 days. Well April is not over yet and I have seen 24 inches in one DUMP in April. So maybe the Yooper Scooper will get a workout yet this winter. The birds and flowers will not appreciate it if we do. Will probably have to cut the grass before I shovel any snow.

By the way we do have toilet paper and no virus yet.
