It’s a short-lived springtime flower, but Creeping Phlox is one of my favorites, right up there with Lilacs. Nancy Haun was recently at the Herman Cemetery, near L’Anse and captured today’s photos of the Phlox having taken over the grounds there, honoring all those that have passed on, with nature’s beauty. I love how the color stands out from the greenery and that there’s even a bit of white sprinkled in the midst of the purple phlox, too.
Nancy share’s a short video with us, also, that she took the same day as the photos. Neat to get a look around, almost like you’re there in person and see the flags waving in the breeze. Rest in Peace... all those interred there.

A nice blanket of flowers for those interred there.

Have never seen something like that before! Wonder if it started from one clump years ago or several families planted the same flower. Beautiful effect!

The video has a feeling of solemnness to it...beauty and tragedy.

This is truly a beautiful stop. The Ahmeek cemetery at dusk is one step better..that's when all the solar lights start to pop on...and that is stunning, but Herman...GORGEOUS!
