Late Thursday and early morning Friday, there were over 2000 Houghton County UPPCO and REA customers without power for various amounts of time during the latest spring snowstorm. It dumped up to 12’’ of heavy, wet snow, depending where you live and blew with powerful gusts of wind all night. Keweenaw Report shares today’s first photo with us, showing one of the reasons the power went out. Check out the power poles, especially the one hanging in the middle of the road. WOW! See more at Keweenaw Report Breaking News.
Just a day earlier, Judy Byykkonen was exploring the Copper Country and stopped in Eagle River for a look at the beach and the ice melt progress there. It still has a ways to go before folks can flock there to swim, but headway has been made. Judy also shares a short video of the Eagle River Falls in full flowage. This is the best time of year for viewing waterfalls here UP North.

Brutal storm! And then the linemen have to be out in it to get everyone's power back. They certainly are a blessing.
You're right Mary, Spring is the time to go waterfall viewing!
