In case you haven’t already heard, the Calumet Colosseum (the oldest indoor hockey arena in the world) is the Grand Prize winner of the Kraft Hockeyville USA 2019 contest. Calumet was one of four finalists in the contest and the winner was decided by Internet voting that took place from Saturday morning, beginning at 7:00 a.m. until Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. when the voting was closed. The four finalist ice arenas could all get folks to vote for their arena in the hopes of winning the Grand Prize of $150,000 for upgrades to the arena and a chance to host an NHL Preseason game. Voting was unlimited, meaning you could vote as many times as you wanted, but the catch was that each time, you had to prove you were “not a robot” by choosing photos of crosswalks, cars, buses, bicycles or fire hydrants in a series of photos, so it took a little bit of patience to get through the “proof” each time, before you could enter your vote. I had forgotten how the voting went when we voted for Lakeside a few years back....... so was surprised how many times we could vote. Put a lot of time in voting for the Colosseum and proving we weren't robots as Charlie said. But it all worked out and we couldn't be prouder of Calumet!! Now if we win the drawing we'll have to have a contest for someone to go in our place!
