Mandy Cadwell recently moved out to be with her menagerie of ducks, horses, donkeys and other critters and is just loving it. She said she is so glad the wildlife is ok with sharing their space with them, as every day is a new “ohhh!”, “awww!” for her. The ducks are her pets and they were loving this rainy day, that with the help of melting snow, made puddles for them to enjoy splashing around in the water for a change, after all the snowy, cold days this winter. They have a pair of eagles hanging out at their place, too and Mandy counts herself as quite lucky to have them living close by with them. It’s a dream come true for her to be out in the country with her critters and the bonus of sunsets right outside her windows.

We have a new “Crossing Place” video from Visit Keweenaw, titled, “We Won’t Go Home Till Morning – The Ambassador Restaurant.” The lead-in to the video says: “When people talk about the iconic landmarks of the Keweenaw, the Ambassador Restaurant in Houghton is often mentioned alongside the Quincy Mine and Brockway Mountain. And rightly so - this beloved main street spot has been serving its signature thin, crispy pizzas and fishbowl cocktails since 1965. The unique Copper Country atmosphere, combined with family recipes that have remained unchanged over the years, fosters a deep sense of nostalgia. Across generations of locals, college students, and visitors, everyone has their own personal favorite pizza and fishbowl combination - almost like a personality test in itself!”

I’m in lucks…I see ducks!
Raise your hand if you’ve
been to the Ambassador.
Sadly, I never have and
it looks like I missed out.

Are those ducks lost? Or just early for Spring.
Do any actually stay all winter there? They have been doing just that around here for maybe 20 years.

Ambassador is my favorite go to, especially for their pizza. My favorite is the Greek with some sausage added. They told me the secret to their crust is letting it age a day.

Pizza

Nice pics, the pair of Eagles is terrific. Last
two
times we went to the Ambassador, the pizza was not
cooked all the way through, and we ended up
throwing
them in the trash as we ate at one of the picnic
tables by the canal.
IMO, there are far better pizza places up in
Calumet. 1. Calumet Pizza Works on 5th street.
2. The Loading Zone in Lake Linden. 3.Jim's
Pizza, 6th Street, Calumet, although I haven't
been to Jim's since they changed ownership. Also,
the pizza at Mt. Bohemia was really good last time
we were there too.

I always get ravioli when we go there
and Ron gets lasagna. Though last time
their ravioli weren't as good. They
said they couldn't get the ones they
usually get and I didn't like them.
First time I was ever disappointed
there.

I guess I'll discover the latest during the 1st week in August. I scored 5 nights on Isle Royale but I'll be in town for a couple of nights both before and after.

Does anyone know where I can get some Dry Ice for a small cooler?
