We’re starting the Pasty Cam week in Escanaba today, with H Donn de Yampert. I really like that he was there at night, as the gazebo is lit UP so beautifully and he gives us a peek at the Sand Point Lighthouse from the gazebo, before we see the actual building itself. It’s quite the historical light, having been built in 1867 and stands on the shores of Lake Michigan, casting it’s beacon across the waters of Little Bay De Noc. You can explore this Lighthouse from Memorial Day until September to learn the history of this 19th century maritime aid.
Louie’s Wildlife Cameras gives us a look at his Upper Peninsula Trail Cam video from Marquette County. The lead-in to the video says: “A two-month trail camera compilation on a wildlife trail along a wetland in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Great species diversity at this location with a surprise capture of a "black wolf", a melanistic color variant of the gray wolf. Species featured in this video: fisher, gray wolf, white-tailed deer, coyote, raccoon, sandhill crane.” So sit back and enjoy the parade of critters!

Cool pictures. I especially like the 2nd one, where the lighthouse is more visible. Nice job.

Very nice set! At first I thought the gazebo was covered with icicles or is that how it is designed??? And a very hauntingly nice video. The wolves reminded me of a movie that I watched recently called “The Grey” staring Liam Neeson…a very good flick.

These are beautiful pics. Wow....What a stunning lil gazebo...I wonder if there's been a lot of proposals in there??
And I love critter vids...and Alex...I LOVE Liam Neeson and that movie was fantastic....as are all his movies...Have you seen The A Team yet? Awesome flick....

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Thanks for the movie tip, Alex. I love anything Liam. Is it on a streaming service?

Donna…I’ll check out that movie…thanks. Deb…I saw it on Xfinity on demand. I don’t subscribe to any streaming services.

Alex....it's a remake of the A-Team...and just awesome!
I sent this down to my Great Niece, who lives in Escanaba...this is her reply:
"That lighthouse is haunted. I saw a face in the top window… pitch black. when I was in like 3rd grade. I’ll never forget it."
She's a nurse now, so that was a long time ago!!

Hi Nice lighthouse; is it in Escanaba? If so, it would have been considered a good post for a lighthouse keeper, unlike the ones out in the lake or on a small island.
I loved the trail cam video, especially the wolves. I'll check my library for "The Grey".
Hi Kathryn, I found the movie on prime if you have it. It's our next watch.

Hi thanks, Deb S., but by choice I get my TV through my rooftop antenna, no streaming services or cable. But my library has a good selection of movies & I did find that movie. I see it is about survival in the wilderness. If folks like that type of story, I'd recommend "The Edge" with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. It's an older one, so I don't if or where it streams.
By Donna (Donna) on Monday, January 20, 2025 - 06:48 pm:
Yes Kathyrn…The Edge is an excellent movie. I’ve watched that movie several times. The Edge is about a bear and The Grey is about wolves… similar survival plots.
