We have some drone photos from 906 Images in the Marquette area. These are from Presque Isle Park, overlooking the Blackrocks area. It looks so cool from above like this and you can see all the different formations under the water on a nice calm day. It helps that Lake Superior's water is so crystal clear and with barely a ripple in the Big Lake that day. It must have been one of our colder fall days, too, as there isn’t a soul in sight, where normally on a summer day, the rocks are busy with folks getting ready to take the 20 to 30 foot plunge off into the chilly waters of Superior.
Today’s video from Bass and Bikes shows just that, with folks braver than me jumping off, when the weather was a bit warmer. Take note how several of them found a spot on the edge that they figured was about the highest point on the rocks to launch themselves off into the Big Lake. Yeehaw!!

These pictures are so great! I love them. That video, though. I could never do that. As much as I love being in the lake, I have to inch my way in, lol. And I'm not a good enough swimmer to jump into that deep water. They have SISU!

What a great set of pix from one of my favorite places in the UP. In better days, I used to load my bicycle (10-speed) into my truck and drive UP from Metro Detroit to Presque Isle, hang out all day and then drive back home. It took me almost 24 hours, but man, it was worth it.

Wow...How awesome....and you have to land vertically, or you'll possibly break bones. Has anyone ever watched the Red Bull Cliff Diving? That's on in the middle of the night...for me anyway...and they jump from a 90 foot platform. And when you enter the water, you have to be vertical and the least amount of water that comes up behind your entry, the better. It is insane...and so many folks are into it.
The under water rocks are scary there...although there doesn't seem to be many where they jump from. If I were YOUNG and healthy....I'd have probably tried that....

Presque Isle Park is a special place for sure. On the opposite side (west) from the diving cliffs the shoreline paints a very different picture. The water is much more shallow in most areas and the day I was there it was very sunny. The bottom reflections, through the mild waves, captured my imagination. I couldn't pick just one image so here are four. .

And I never realized what a fairly long swim it is after a jump to get back to the beach.

Nice pix, D,A.! Presque Isle has so many special and unique areas. I used to sit on the West side of the island and watch the sunset and then head back home to Troy. Those were special moments that I will always remember.

Definitely a favorite spot of mine been there many times, jump many times. And instead of swimming to shore, if you swim around front of the rocks, you can climb up from there. It’s much easier And closer. Fantastic aerial shots as well. Brings back a lot of good memories.
