Just a reminder that the peak colors have for the most part, come and gone here in the Keweenaw. Although you still may find some of the brilliance of Autumn here and there. BUT...here on the Pasty Cam, we’re not going to let all the beautiful photos captured of the Keweenaw in color go to waste, Fall is still in full swing on these pages for another week or two. I hope you’ll enjoy the extended season as much as I am.

Jean Dessellier captured Quincy Hill in all her glory, with the leaves at their peak and most beautifully coloring the hillside underneath the Quincy Mine Shaft. Then on her way back home, she snapped a number of dazzling shots of the trees in Traprock Valley, proudly displaying their fall coats. You know, I’ve lived my entire life here in the Copper Country and the leaves changing into such beauty never ceases to astound me each and every year.

Visit Keweenaw, along with Keweenaw Land Trust Botanist & Program Manager Jill Fisher, share some tips on how to be a good steward while out exploring nature in the Keweenaw. They say that even the most mindful hiker has an impact on their surroundings and knowing the basics, like staying on the trails and leaving no trace, ensure these beautiful natural areas stay accessible for humans and safe for nature.

Hi
Wow, what beautiful color. By all means keep showing
the peak color photos.

What a beautiful set and the most colorful
that I’ve seen so far. To see that in person
would bring tears to my eyes.
I think that this has been one of the best
Fall seasons that we’ve had for some
time now. Usually it’s raining or windy
and all the leaves get knocked off the trees.
Thanks, Jean for this superb collection!

Beautiful! I certainly don't get
tired of seeing them. It'll be
very drab for the next several
months, so let's keep it going.

Spectacular! When you have some green for contrast that really sets off the colors. Never get tired of seeing these.
