(...and we were treated to an exciting Calumet vs. St. Ignace battle) |
A couple of familiar sights up the west hill in Houghton. Notice the excavation on the hillside behind Kirkish Furniture. (do we see some snowflakes falling with the drizzle today?) |
The pumpkins started pouring in this afternoon at Eagle Harbor for the first annual "Pumpkin Art Festival". One pickup truck had quite a few entries. (read more about it at George's Eagle Harbor pages) |
The Keweenaw County Road Commission takes advantage of an unusually warm day to complete a last minute project and put up the remaining snow sticks... (...which will be appreciated by the plow drivers in a few weeks) |
The PastyNET miner with the pail is Jack Foster, former Calumet Police Chief and local historian. Jack stops in to visit the folks at Pasty Central, and chats with Margaret Hogback. (the other two ladies are Ione Westlake{left} and Bea Pope) |
The view from the tower high atop the 5 mile point Sand
Hills Light House.
|
Kind of a gray, overcast Sunday here in the U.P. No snow yet... With most of the leaves gone, we didn't see much color today, but did catch an interesting sign. (After all... this is the Pasty Cam.) |
