Barbara Bouwkamp snapped the first two photos on the Chassell-Painesdale Road and she suggests that if you have a reason to go to or past Chassell, take the upper road there to see this beautiful field of sunflowers. When Barbara was telling me about them, she mentioned that her friend, Lori Heikkila also had some beautiful close-up photos of the yellow blooms in the same field and she quickly acquired permission to share those, also (the last two photos). Once again, another photographer makes my job so much easier, thanks, Barbara! But I digress...what an amazing sight this must be in person and I’m betting there have been hundreds of photos snapped in this field of flowers...graduation shots, family photos, pictures of grandkids, the list goes on and on.

We have another in “The Crossing Place” series from Visit Keweenaw. This one highlighting the LoHo (Lower Houghton) Waterfront – Flowing with the Waters of Change, featuring Houghton City Manager, Eric Waara. This transformed LoHo Waterfront is a launching point for tours and a destination for live music, markets, events, and Keweenaw exploration!

Sorry for a little delay in today's daily update. Computer glitch.

Pasty Cam # 9,627. Pleasant pictures, great video.

Thanks to Mary Drew for another glimpse of life in the U.P., a daily fix that we have delivered for over a third of our lives. Nice to have you along :)

I agree…pleasant pix, great video!
Waterfronts are always a great asset
for any city that can accommodate one.

Nice to be along.

Is the sunflower farm near Escanaba, Hall Farms still active>

I heard yesterday that sunflowers are used to detox radiation infected areas like in Japan at the Fukushima nuclear accident. Somehow it "draws" the radiation affected minerals, etc. out of the soil. I guess, don't eat the seeds?
