Paulette Laitila lives in a log cabin with a great view of Lake Superior. It’s a dream place to be, but lots of work to keep the place UP. It looks like a labor of love with all the plants, wind chimes and spinners decorating the place. It seems like Paulette also has a “green thumb” with the plants and flowers. I’m not sure what kind of thumb grows garter snakes like the one she spotted when working outside or large toads, either, that you can barely see in Paulette’s bottom photo. It’s almost like the toad is a chameleon, since at first glance you might miss him there on the ground. Yes, indeed, her home is a beautiful place!

Mitten Cinematics takes us on a drone flight over the Upper Peninsula. Full of beauty, the U.P. is truly a hidden gem....

Beautiful pictures (except for the
snake). Paulette definitely has a
beautiful place to live and knows
how to fix it up.

Hi
DebS, consider that the snake is probably eating
mice that are thinking about getting into the cabin.

Kathryn, this is probably true,
but I honestly freak when I see
them. I've never liked snakes

Wow…that’s one sweet crib!
And a labor of love indeed.
Took me a moment to find
the big amphibian. I wonder
if it knows Toad the Wet Sprocket.
That is a large Garter and it’s
just lying there waiting for a nice
juicy ankle to hold on to.
Do you know what I mean, Deb???
They’re not poisonous, but once
they get a grip they’re hard to get off.
I suggest a a pair of high leather boots Deb.
Don’t say that I didn’t warn you.
“Sssssssighed the sssssssnake.”

Nobody is safe around me if I see
a snake. I actually pushed my aunt
to the ground and ran when I was
younger. And that is a big snake.
Don't know what I'd do if I ever
saw one that big.

By Donna (Donna) on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 - 02:17 pm:

I don't do snakes either. When my Gram was alive,
she'd cut the thing in half with a shovel, all the
while yelling "Devil, Devil, Devil"....

What a gorgeous, gorgeous home indeed! WTG
Paulette!~
