We’re celebrating Independence Day here on the Pasty Cam, with a trio of Stars and Stripes, beginning with E. Neil Harri’s Eagle Harbor lakeshore deck adorned with not one but if my count is correct, four American Flags flown proudly over the Harbor.

Next in the lineup of patriotic photos, is a Bootjack sunset shining through Sally Beaudette’s Flag, waving in the breeze. Beautiful capture with the setting sun illuminating our Nation’s pride and symbol of freedom.

The third photo was snapped by Barbara Bouwkamp out at her Big Traverse camp. That’s quite a view with the beautiful geraniums, our United States Flag and beautiful Lake Superior in the background. I couldn’t decide which of these three was my favorite, so figured I’d share them all. Have a safe and enjoyable celebration of our American freedoms.

Visit Keweenaw, shares another video in the ‘Crossing Place’ series, entitled: Protecting a Legacy: Keweenaw Heartlands Project with The Nature Conservancy (TNC). In 2022, TNC purchased 32,600 acres of forest land in the Keweenaw Peninsula to ensure a legacy of dedicated conservation. These acres were named “The Heartlands”. In today’s video Julia Petersen, TNC Project Manager in the Keweenaw Peninsula, speaks on the Heartlands Project and how to discover and appreciate these lands for yourself.

she forever wave. The $Bay high
school band was playing patriotic
music in the Lake Linden parade
today. I loved it! I videoed it. I
also got a picture of our Mary,
marching proudly with the Legion,
helping to carry our flag. If I
knew how to post it here, I would.
