Rain doesn’t stop Kathy Erkkila Ptaszek and her friend when they’re determined to take a hike. They drove to Great Sand Bay on M-26 donned their raincoats and headed out on the trails there. Kathy said: “It rained for our entire hike at Great Sand Bay, but that kept the mosquitoes at bay and actually brought out the colors. We oohed and aahed all the way.” You can tell by the photos she snapped that there was plenty of interesting and unique items of nature along the way to make their hike well worth the dampened effort.

Austin Clark takes us on a drone flyover of the shoreline at Great Sand Bay from a couple years back. It’s always interesting to see what Lake Superior does with the shoreline along here from year to year.

my Gram...she was a magnet for those and
Arbutus...do we even have that hiding anymore??

Alex, I wish I could get you one more ride on M-26
on a brand-new GW!! (Gold Wing by Honda, one the
best touring motorcycles ever produced) I'd give
plenty if I could make that happen for you pal!! Not
trying to bring you down, I believe many of us would
if we could. We all think the world of you friend!
