Stacey Flood recently went on an adventure at the Sturgeon River Gorge Wilderness, which is in the Ottawa National Forest near Sidnaw. The Wilderness area was created in 1987 and encompasses 14,729 acres with rugged forests and the Sturgeon River cutting deep valleys through the landscape, which makes logging difficult and road development nearly impossible. It was logged generations ago, with small areas untouched and the rest has regrown to massive size. One of the most visited spots is the Sturgeon Falls since it’s the easiest to find with a small parking area located off Forest Road 2270 and a trailhead with plenty of information to get you started. The trail is about a mile in length and is easy to follow and will take about 2–3 hours to complete. You can see from Stacey’s photos that the falls is worth the adventure.

We’re going on a waterfall tour around the U.P., with Haven’t Seen It Yet. The following falls are included on this tour: Fumee Falls, Bond Falls, Agate Falls, Presque Isle Falls, Jacob's Falls, Canyon Falls, Scott Falls, Alger Falls, Wagner Falls, Twin Falls, Munising Falls, Miner's Falls, Sable Falls and Tahquamenon Falls. Enjoy the tour!

Awesome pics. That tree is a woodpecker tree if
I've ever seen one. It's full of bugs. And the rock
wall? Gorgeous! Mother Nature is beautimous!

Cool Vid.

Nice set of pix and a very pleasant video!
The second pic looks like an old dilapidated
outhouse. Can Capt. Paul shed some light
on that formation?
And the video was great featuring
waterfalls that I’ve never seen before.

the city. lol It's all systems go, health wise. Jim,
I'm bringing the keg of nails buddy! :=))
