Gladys Collins really has a green thumb when it comes to the flowers around her West Ishpeming home. Her Iris collection is outstanding and I absolutely love the pink Poppies. The red Poppies seem to be more common, so those pink ones really stand out. It’s funny how different areas see their blooms so much earlier than here in the Keweenaw. We have several of the red Poppies in front of our house, but they are nowhere near blooming quite yet. The wild irises in our fields are out though and many other wildflowers are blooming along the roadsides, which I thoroughly enjoy on my walk each day.

Speaking of blooming, we have a video recorded by In The Keweenaw of the Bridgefest Fireworks from last weekend. They were blooming and bursting in the nighttime skies over the Portage Canal. Ohh... ahhh... enjoy the sparkling show!

What a beautiful display of pix!
I sure am Glad-it’s Ms. Collin’s
floral arranging results. Thank you, Gladys!
And speaking of arrangements, what
a beautiful display of fireworks to
light up the night time sky. Dogs will be
go’n bloomin boom-boom-crazy soon.
Better get out the doggie snuggle blankets
and those doggie Valium pills.
(and take a few for yourself)
Ain’t the 4th a hoot?

Gladys...that green thumb is really working
overtime. Those flowers are so beautiful. And I
LOVE that glass piece in the front in the first
pic. The whole thing is gorgeous!!

I watched those fireworks online. lol...Tech has a
bunch of webcams, and I saw them there. Not as nice
as the vid....And the fireworks don't seem to be
like they were in our younger days. But...I saw
fireworks.
