Diane Richard was recently at the Herman Cemetery in L’Anse Township, Baraga County and snapped these photos, saying it was a must see for everyone. I’ve been at other cemeteries where the Creeping Phlox grows, but few of them are blanketed with the colorful flower ground cover like this one. No need to decorate the graves of your loved ones interred there with flowers you bring in, at least not until the Phlox is done blooming. Nature’s way of honoring our deceased loved ones. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

Just about the same time, Nancy Haun was driving by and she said despite the rain, she had to stop and record a video, because in her words, it was “just stunning”. Such a beautiful resting place.

What a stunning display of flowers and a great way
of bringing a cemetery to life !! Being viewed here
from Cornwall, UK.

I view Pasty.com pretty well every day as a reminder
of the wonderful times I spent in Eagle River with
the late Jack and Carol Treganowan.

Today also happens to be Jack's birthday.

With my best wishes to all you readers who know me.

Very nice flower-topping display. At first
they seemed a little creepy (no pun intended).
If they were blood-red like poppies the
cemetery would make a good movie.
And they would make a great lawn covering too
if they lasted all summer…no mowing
involved.

This is a little cemetery...but absolutely
gorgeous.

In a culture that pushes us to focus not on what we
can give, but on what we can take, what we tend to
take is everything for granted.

Absolutely gorgeous. There are
beautiful creeping phlox at the
Houghton cemetery too, but not to
this extent. Thanks for stopping,
Nancy.

I almost forgot. Graham, I know
the gal who's dating their son
Josh very well. They seem very
happy. I used to love stopping at
that store for an ice cream and a
chat. Such nice people.

At first, I thought this was trick photography. I
agree with Alex, it would make a good movie scene.
The photos are beautiful, but I'll bet it looks
better in person.
