Cathy McKenzie and friends, Marcy and Jennifer are quite the adventure girls. They recently picked a perfect weather day and adventured out to Fish Cove with a side-by-side on the ORV trail. She said the “road” that leads there made the adventure a memorable one for sure, with some dandy mud holes to drive through, but they had so much fun in the side-by-side. From Fish Cove the ladies hiked to the Montreal Falls, which Cathy said was about 2.5 miles round trip according to her FitBit. She said it was both trail and beach hiking and a little challenging at times. Cathy added that she’s now been there in both the spring and the fall, but doesn’t think she would like to do it in the middle of the summer. Sure looks like a grand adventure!

Speaking of adventures, Nature Harmony TV is taking us to six Upper Michigan waterfalls in one day. We will visit the Munising Falls, Wagner Falls, Au Train Lower Falls, Au Train Upper Falls, Scott Falls, Miner Falls and Alger Falls, all in the Munising area. There are actually 14 waterfalls in that area, but these folks could only make it to six on them on this day.

Greetings to all:

Could the foam shown in the Montreal Falls photo be from cruise ships or dish detergent from an upstream camp?

I've done some hiking with Marcy,
and she just loves it. Looks like
she's got some great friends to go
with her. These pictures are
great. I would have loved to have
been on this adventure with them.
Thanks for sharing these with us

A great set of pix and the video is one of the
best I’ve seen so far.
It’s in the top three at least and I will be
watching it again for sure.
A very special thanks to all who contributed.

Great Pics and Video!! I've been out there several
times by boat, it's absolutely beautiful.

JTinChicago, The foam is most likely from the tannin
from the Montreal River. Very similar to the Root
Beer post from yesterday. That's my guess and I'm
sticking to it. lol

JT & UT,

Close but not the tannins. Several plants and animals that die have molecules containing oils and fats. These act like soap but are more properly called surfacants. Tannins are also from dead plant material but the foam stuff is much more short lived.

Keep on truck'in ladies. Thanks for letting us "tag along".

26May2024 Greetings:

Thank you, D. A., regarding the source of the foam.

Much appreciated.
