When you live in a cabin on the shores of Lake Superior in the Keweenaw, you don’t just get people visitors, you sometimes get critters coming around, too. Paulette Laitila recently had a deer come peeking around her place and it must have felt quite safe, because it came in pretty close while checking her out, as she was checking the deer out, too. Paulette said she’s pretty sure that one is pregnant, so maybe she was looking for a safe place to have her fawn when it’s time.

The bottom photo was snapped by Linda Griffin and that’s her cat in front of the deer on the ground. It looks like both the deer and the cat are quite comfortable with being in each other’s company. I suppose because they don’t have to compete for dinner.

Is it just me or does the deer look a bit ragged, also with several ticks?

Our deer are looking pretty ragged
right now too. Won't be long and
they'll have shed all of that and
be beautiful. I just love deer
pictures. Such magnificent looking
animals.

It must be our winters down here (northern IL).
The many deer by me never look like that.

Yep...those are "Winter Coats" and a drabber color
in the coat..come Summer, they will have that
beautiful shiny tan coat!

Paulette sends me gorgeous pics now and again, and
my Sis takes STUNNING pics and videos..that she
NEEDS to share....I won't even tell you how many
times I've told her to share that stuff!

too..
