Barbara Bouwkamp was out and about after dark recently and snapped a few photos of the Houghton Waterfront in lights, including a lit up Portage Lift Bridge shot. The City of Houghton has really been keeping the waterfront decorated and bright with lights for all the holidays. Nice job folks!

Then once Barbara got back home in Laurium, it was time to take their dog Willow, for an evening walk, so she and her hubby, Tom headed out. They encountered a few new neighbors along the way, as the kids had built several snowmen on the side of the road with the chunks of snow the plows had left. Not sure how long these snow people will last, as the temperatures have been unseasonably warm here in the Keweenaw again and the snow is rapidly melting once more.

Continuing with the look at Houghton, we join In The Keweenaw for a brief fly-by over the campus of Michigan Tech.

Beautiful pics....cool vid. They've made the
waterfront so nice....both sides of the bridge!

Very cool pictures. I do love the Houghton
waterfront. As Donna said, both sides of the
bridge look so nice at night. Mont Ripley in the
background always looks beautiful at night.

Very cool video too.

Surreal pix, indeedy-deedy-deed.

"Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow-white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion"
(Graham Edge)

Nice video of a road I've traveled on the Wing many
a time. Thanks for the memories!

Alex, it's Graeme Edge not Graham. Easy mistake to make (or time for new glasses!). Of the Moody Blues (1941-2021)

Hi
Nice Moody Blues lyric, & a true statement.

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I felt envy
when I saw the snow. To me the snow pictures look
very pretty, & bring back memories of winters past,
when even downstate we had snow.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Monday, January 29, 2024 - 06:07 pm:

John Mich…glasses are working just fine, Graham
was the name reported by Musixmatch
But I do see the name Graeme popping up
as well and that name appears to
be correct. Thanks for the correction.

Thanks for the beautiful and soothing pictures. Needed that after a disappointing evening of football last night. Wait 'till next year!
