So before anyone asks... no, it’s not the last day of the month with the sunrise and sunsets today, it’s just that sometimes there are so many beautiful photos of them that we don’t get to share them all, so I’m declaring this a sunrise and sunset kind of day here on the Pasty Cam. The first three photos are from Debbie Jarve who captured the sunrise last week on a foggy morning. In that first shot it looks like there is a fire in the trees. The third photo Debbie snapped at Calumet Waterworks (a.k.a. Bucky’s) and declared it to be one of the best sunsets she has seen. I have to agree, it’s quite outstanding!

The next three sunsets were taken by Krista Poirier who said that the mosquitoes were so bad when she snapped these last week, it was nearly impossible to get good shots. I don’t know about you, but I’d say these were all three better than good shots. You can see the Isle Royale Queen coming into view on the right, in Krista’s first photo and then her second picture it’s passing by the setting sun. Her last photo is my favorite of her three shots, with the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse light shining through the rock cut and the setting sun lighting up the sky behind the scene. Stunning!

FunintheUP says that summer is half over when you see the Fireweed flowers blooming on the sides of the road and in fields. This was an important plant to native people around the world. You can read more about this plant here: Fireweed

Omgosh! These pictures are so great! My
favorite is at Bucky's. That's one of the
best I've ever seen. I,too, love seeing the
Eagle Harbor lighthouse any time. So pretty.

Hopefully we'll have summer right into
October, and then fall right into December.
