Today is Flag Day and Jean Dessellier shares the perfect photo to commemorate the day. According to Wikipedia, “In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.” Fly your flag proudly today and every day!

George C. Bailey snapped the remaining two photos. He said it was a fabulous Keweenaw day looking out his back door at Brockway Mountain when the smoke cleared! Like much of the northern part of the country, the fires in Canada have been causing hazy skies and some days you can smell the smoke even. So it was a wonderful day to have clear blue skies, dotted with fluffy clouds. Sometimes it takes something like smokey haze clouding our view to make us all appreciate the scenery around us.

Speaking of appreciating the view, Steve Brimm has been out of town visiting his Mom and working on her “honey do” list, so he was happy to be able to visit his birches at the Harbor again. Thankfully he’s taking us along, too.

Happy Birthday Bradley James!

Every day is Flag Day at my house. I think my 24/7 display of the national ensign (with appropriate lighting) has had an affect on my neighbors. Several now have their own new displays, even if only on national holidays. Maybe it wasn't me but I feel good seeing all the flags.

I think your good example is having a positive impact on your neighbors. We do the same thing and our corner of the subdivision has a lot more flags.
