It seems that lately Jeff Dennis has been hanging out with a menagerie of critters. Maybe he’s developed a knack for being a “critter whisperer”. Jeff says that his Facebook friends are wondering why he’s taking so many pictures of all kinds of critters and his neighbors are wondering why he’s on his hands and knees in the yard for a selfie with the neighborhood bunny and at his front door to capture the handsome guy who posed so nicely for his portrait. The deer picture was right in his front yard, too, on the main street in Lake Linden. The red fox came to visit at the Mount Calvary cemetery outside of Lake Linden, must have been paying his respects, too. And what a capture that newly hatched woodcock chick photo is. Talk about being in the right place at the right time in the Little Traverse area. I wonder if maybe Jeff could start his own TV show, All Creatures Big and Small in the Keweenaw.
We head south to the L’Anse area with Nancy Haun next. This video was from a week ago when she was out exploring on Black Bear Road and found a beautiful little stream on the way to the Rock Cut. My favorite part of the video is the sound of the stream, hope you enjoy it, too.

Amazing you could catch the fox picture - and the new baby woodcock! That deer is looking at the hostas and thinking: LUNCH!!! Have never seen a black rabbit in the wild. He must be pretty savvy!
