Back on May 18th, George C. Bailey shared Lake Superior when she was all stirred up and raging. Today we get a look at the Big Lake when she is calm and serene, with interesting clouds overhead as the sun begins to go down. George has the knack for capturing the beauty of Lady Superior in all her moods and it always amazes me how different these waters can look each and every time. The clouds in these shots give the impression of a ceiling above and really sets off the sun going down that day. Simply stunning!
We’re going to learn about Michigan Vernal Pools with Alexis Dahl in today’s video. Her lead-in info says: “You know those temporary pools of water that form after the snow melts in the spring? It turns out they’re way more interesting and important than I truly would have ever guessed.” She also thanks Sam Kurkowski, Dr. Rod Chimner and Zoie Schafer for all their time and insight. So sit back and get comfy, this one is 23 minutes of interesting information you probably didn’t know before...I know I didn’t.
If you’re still voting for Lake Superior as the Best Lake in all three categories, here are the links to do so.
Vote for the best lake in the U.S. once per day until polls close on Monday, June 5 at noon ET.

I agree - the colors in the pictures are almost unbelievable! So rich! The camera catches much of what our eye can't see.
Another great video from Alexis; have seen stories about fairy shrimp but this is so much more informative.
