You can imagine with all the wind we experienced during the two day St. Patrick’s Day storm last weekend that Lake Superior was a bit stirred up. Thanks to George C. Bailey, we get a first-hand look at the Big Lake in all her glory after the snow had stopped, the sun came out and the wind was still whipping the waves all about. George managed to capture the spectacular beauty of Superior at Dan’s Point near Copper Harbor, “as the storm churns” with the magnificent blues in the water and the ice, along with the curls of the waves as they thrash about in the gale force winds that day.
I always enjoy reading the comments folks share about George’s photography...below is a small sampling of those posted for these photos:
“Lake Superior and your photos never disappoint! Always something different to see.” “Nature’s rock Tumbler. Can't wait to go rock picking.” “George, you sure know how to capture the natural beauty of it all so perfectly.” “These are powerfully beautiful pictures.”
Since George brought us Lake Superior thrashing about, I figured we’d end the week with a bit calmer look and listen to what Steve Brimm calls “20 seconds of morning mood enhancer”. Once again, speaker volume is needed to hear the beauty of the water as it peacefully, meanders along.
