E. Neil Harri took advantage of the sunshine we enjoyed last weekend to get UP in the air and snap some outstanding shots with the frost on the hilltops and the sun illuminating it all. He started out at the Cliffs area near Phoenix, with a shot looking northeast and Cliff Drive on the right side of the view. His next snapshot is looking west near Cliff Mine. In the third photo we get a good look at one of the bluffs of the Cliffs near the Manhattan Mine site. Then in the fourth photo we see the second Cliff Mine on top of the Cliffs. The perspective from the air is nothing short of amazing and I’m sure glad Neil says what we’re looking at, because I oftentimes have a hard time distinguishing where we are from the way UP there.

The last three photos from Neil, take us for a flyover of Brockway Mountain, first looking northeast toward Copper Harbor. Then a look at the bluff that runs along the top of Brockway Mountain and finally a good view of the very top of the Mountain Drive where folks stop for outstanding views from what seems like the top of the world.

We put our feet back on the ground in today’s video from 906 Outdoors. We’re going to do some winter camping with a group of guys, some of whom have been annually camping on the North Country Trail of the O Kun De Kun Falls Trailhead for 46 years. Sit back and get comfy for this episode, as it’s just over 23 minutes.

Nice set! That’s a nice way to retire.

Great video, those guys know how to have a good time. I'd like to join them for a PBR but wouldn't camp out overnight in below-zero temps, that's for sure!

At first I thought it was drone photos but then realized the altitude was just too high so it must be Neil.

The 906 video sure brought back memories. Back in the 70's my roommate and I used to winter camp. As these guys illustrate and mention, most of your time is spent keeping warm, spending a lot of extra time performing simple tasks and often just trying to stay alive.

One time we snow skied from 41 into Gratiot Lake where my roommate's Uncle had a cabin. Unfortunately, we lost the keys and were too fearful to break in, so we slept in the tent but we were less prepared than expected.

Good memories but with or without the PBR or Old Style, I would NOT do it nowadays.

Thanks Neil - gorgeous shots of the Cliffs! They are even more magnificent in Winter. The picture of the Second Cliff Mine is fascinating with the pattern in the snow. It doesn't show up without the snow of course.
