Last week one day, Debbie Jarve made the trek up to Bare Bluff to see what the fall colors were doing so far. She found plenty of green along the way, but then also some brilliant splashes of color, too. It was definitely not at peak color yet as you can see in the long range view toward the tip of the Keweenaw. There are hints of color there, so I’m guessing that in the next week or two, we should be seeing much more color. We’ve gotten plenty of rain lately, though, so I’m not sure how that will affect the leaves changing. Debbie Jarve Photography

Nice! I always enjoy pix of Bare Bluff, my first hike in the UP. Nice
video too.

In early September, I took the Smith Fisheries road but someone had put up a new gate so you could drive to the Bare Bluff parking lot.

Great pictures from what must've been a fun hike. Thanks for looking for color. I've been wondering if there's significant color anywhere. Our hill has trees that are really orange and red. So pretty.
