Patrick Hugener, from Head in the Clouds Photography, takes us on a quick tour around the Munising area, starting with Munising Bay in his first photo. Check out the fog rolling in over the hills. Gives the scene a bit of an eerie look.
More fog in the second photo that Patrick snapped of the East Channel Light on Grand Island near Munising. The lighthouse building has been restored and is on private property. I’m not certain, but I think your only option for viewing this light is by boat or by air. Unless you know the owners.
The last two shots are Sand Point. Viewing it from above like this, you can see where it got its name from. It looks like it’s sandy quite a ways from the shoreline. I wonder if it’s shallow that far out, too? Here again you can see the fog covering the East Channel around the point. It seems to be staying out over the water, more than on the shoreline here. Interesting…
In the video today, it mentions that strong currents reshape the beaches and sandbars of Sand Point, so it’s often different every time you go there. The power of water, especially in Lake Superior, is always amazing to me, how it moves huge amounts of sand and heavy rocks like it does

Beautiful pic's & video!! One of my favorite areas.
I'd consider living in Munising/Au Train area. It's
a beautiful, peaceful area and close to MGH for
healthcare and airport. Just a hop, skip & jump to
the Keweenaw as well!

I love Munising. We have a weekend planned
in the area. There's so much to see there.
Very nice pictures.
The video's nice too.
