Crocuses are blooming and bees are buzzing. Today’s shots from Photography by Frances, give us a close-up view, without any worries about disturbing the bumblebee. Frances Czapski had this to say about her captures:
“I love my garden bees! Found this one tucked into a crocus the other day, pollen everywhere. I'm so happy that some of my later blooming crocuses survived the early onslaught of the deer that devoured many of my crocuses, tulips and hyacinths. I plant flowers for the bees and butterflies. Soon, they will be pollinating my garden plants!”
She takes care of them and then they take care of her. It’s a win-win all around.
Frances says that spring days start early, with the sunrise around 6:20 a.m. on the day she recorded this video and it’s a minute or two earlier every day until the solstice. This was about 20 minutes before sunrise, with it calm and peaceful on the shores of Lake Superior at Whitefish Bay. It doesn’t get much better than this!
