On a drive home from Marquette, Nicky Outinen asked her partner, Wayne to find a moose for her and I guess he understood the assignment! Nicky said it was such an awesome sight to see and Wayne was patient with her while she snapped about forty photos. She said this was around 5 – 10 miles from the Covington Junction, on the Marquette side and was her first time seeing one on that stretch of US41. This guy was losing his winter fur, getting ready for the heat of the summer months, so he was looking a bit shaggy.
You can see in the video Nicky made that this guy was quite thirsty and was enjoying the cool water in the bog there, giving ample opportunity for some good video footage.

Always a thrill.
I think that region is so productive for spotting moose because it is quite marshy. I almost always seem to spot them south of Covington along the east side of US-141.
