On the way home from a drive to Marquette, Debbie Jarve stopped at the Canyon Falls, often referred to as the Grand Canyon of the U.P., to see how the falls were running. After walking that beautiful walkway, she found the falls rushing, foaming and roaring their way along the Sturgeon river. This time of year the falls are raging over a series of drops, until it gets to the gorge portion where there are ledges and walls that look like they were carved out, just for the rushing waters to pass through. It’s an impressive and easy to visit falls, with the trailhead located at the roadside park off US41 and the hike back to the falls only about a mile with walkways along the way to make the trek easier.
Debbie also made a video in which you’ll see the power and beauty combined, that make this such a great falls to visit. For more of Debbie’s photography, click on over to her Facebook page here: Debbie Jarve Photography

Thank you Debbie! I can't do this stuff anymore, and sure do miss it. This is incredible. Thank you again!

What beauty! We were gonna stop there when we went to Marquette a while back but wasn't sure about the snow. Well that, and we were in a hurry. I love those falls. But then, I love most falls. The video was great also.

Me too, Deb...always in a hurry. Passed by dozens of times when I was heading UP or down, but never stopped.

How blessed is the UP with so many waterfalls? Thanks Debbie.
I wish Facebook would allow higher quality video or maybe it's just me on my end?
Can I add one today from my Youtube channel? I wonder what the flow is like this week. I need to get there soon. Huron River - Big Eric's Bridge Falls
