We have a double-header from Nancy Haun with today and yesterday’s photos. This time Nancy is sharing her train passion with us, as the Canadian National passes by the Bishop Baraga Shrine entrance (another passion of Nancy’s). She said she’s never seen the logs there before. I’m guessing they’re piled there due to the road restrictions this time of year. The loggers will get them hauled from the secondary roads that have weight restrictions in the spring and stack them where they can access them for transport.
The second photo is neat, with the cars all lined up in L’Anse and a hint of fog just above them. Then the third photo Nancy captured as the CN was pulling into Herman.
Two bonus photos, although I wouldn’t call the six inches of snow that fell a bonus this time of year, it did make for some beautiful shots of the Silver River in Skanee. But it’s time for this beauty to take a break for seven or eight months.
In Nancy’s video we watch the Canadian National come up over the L’Anse Hill at milepost 216, cross US-41 and head up the L’Anse Hill to Herman. At the end of her video she has some footage of the Silver River, too.

I loved the bonus photos. They look like
Christmas cards. And trains are always
good. Loved the video too.
