The weather has been a bit all over the place the last few days, a few snow flurries, warmer temperatures in the low 40’s and even fog. Nancy Haun snapped a couple of good photos of the fog bank between L’Anse and Baraga, which she said was quite amazing. It was like it was hovering over the land across Keweenaw Bay, looking at Certainteed, Koppers, the BioMass plant, that’s the area where the extra smoke is coming from in the second photo.
Nancy did a great job making a video of Keweenaw Bay with the fog bank. She even captured an Eagle being chased by several seagulls. She’s filming from the Baraga side and gets us a glimpse of the Bishop Baraga Shrine as she spans around the area.

Very cool. I love fog like that. Really nice catch with the eagle.

Hi At the end, the eagle was flying relatively low. My dad was a pilot (for fun). He told me about something called low altitude flight, where the prop wash (or in this case wingbeats) bouncing back from the ground give extra lift. I'm not sure that was what was going on with the eagle, he or she could have had other reasons for getting low.

Nice...she mentioned Best Western which was my hub when I went UP on the Wing. It's now called Baraga Lakeside Inn.

Alex, I too stayed there when traveling for work, they used to service a pretty good meal, not sure if they still do.
