George C. Bailey captured some unbelievable photos of the ice mountains on the shoreline of Lake Superior near Dans Point, in Eagle Harbor Township, west of Copper Harbor. It’s hard to believe that the “mountainous” accumulations of ice on the shoreline there will be melting anytime soon, so I asked George when he thought all this ice will melt. I was worried there would still be ice there in June. His reply was surprising: “From previous spring thaws that we’ve seen, a few storms will melt the ice quite quickly.” Once again Mother Nature impresses with her own timetable of when winter turns into spring, even on the icy shores of Lake Superior.
We join Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula for a look at winter along the shoreline of Esrey Park, which is west of Dans Point on M26, where today’s photos were snapped.

You can't really complain about heat/humidity unless you've lived in SE Texas in the summer...... there's a reason why we escape to the Keweenaw each year in July/August!! ;-)
