We’re on tour here in the Keweenaw, with Walter Dennis. He’s giving us some great aerial shots of the Winter Wonderland that makes up this beautiful area many of us call home and others love to visit. The photos take us from McLain State Park, looking at the Upper Entry Lighthouse, to Ripley with a look at the Portage Canal, the Portage Lake Lift Bridge, the Isle Royale Ranger and Quincy Hill. All familiar places and sights.
Walter tops it off with a drone video that actually starts in Calumet with a flight between the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church steeples and a look at some snowmobiles on the trail that goes through that area there. Then out to McLain and into Ripley for an aerial tour of Mount Ripley and a look up the Canal. We even get a glimpse of the Snowmobile Trail Groomer as it grooms the trail that travels along the old mining properties there. The perspectives from the air like this are always so interesting.

Great, COLD, looking pics & video Walt!! You always have the best music accompanying your videos and you are really good at flying the drone!! Splitting the steeples... quite daring of you!! :=)) I really enjoyed the tour, thanks for sharing the flight with us!!

Love it, love it, LOVE IT. I cannot get out and about that much anymore, so all the videos are so greatly appreciated. I watch the people ski on Mont Ripley, the drone view of it is incredible.
I turn on the ski hill site on the Michigan Tech webcams and it amazes me how young some of those kids are that come barreling down that ski hill. Then you have the parents coming down with kids as they are teaching them. Wish they had a camera on another part of the ski hill. Love to watch it just the same.
