The Laurium village crew was out with equipment last week, widening the side streets. Barbara Bouwkamp remarked that the street was down to almost one lane and now with the snowblower brigade, they’re back to boulevard status again. She also had a big pat on the back for the crew saying, ‘Way to go guys!’ The last photo is a shot of Barbara’s hubby, Tom, out there with the scoop to clean up what the equipment leaves in its wake.

This team of Payloader, snowblower, dump truck performs this operation like a choreographed dance. Barbara also shares a video of the process, with dump trucks lined up to replace each other as they’re filled to the brim with snow. It’s a dance that most villages here UP North know how to do quite well. A big Thank You to the crews that keep our streets plowed and drivable all winter.

Nice pics & video, so well manicured!! We obviously
don't get that much snow in SE MI. I always found
these pics to be almost like from another world,
lol, like that 4th pic!! Makes me wish I was U.P.
there driving around in it, I miss it.... really
beautiful!!

Love these pictures and great video. I've
been watching this happen all over the place
UP here but they do not come and do our
street. So frustrating but we're just out
of the village limits so they don't do it.

They sure do know how to remove snow UP
here. Thanks for sharing.

Our work crews are simply amazing. Ain't no one
else got workers like us! Another blessing to us.

Oh Deb, I feel your pain. Used to live in Dollar
Bay. They'd plow the three main roads going into
town...no side roads. Thankfully, at the time, I
lived next door to the gent that ran the road
commission and he'd plow the road to get out...I'd
leave home right after him. :D

To bad we can't sell it by the pound to the middle-
east.

That's awesome, Donna. What great thinking!
And believe me, you're right about the snow
removal people UP here. I've lived in other
states who are used to getting snow.
They're clueless.
