Brita Haapala took a drive on a sunny morning recently, to the eastern shore of Lake Superior. The sun was shining brightly through the trees, creating shadows and highlighting the snow that seemed to cover everything in sight. She spotted deer along the way in Gay and then continued on to Big Traverse and the shores of the Big Lake there. What a glorious morning that must have been to experience that sunshine and crisp calm on the wintry looking beach.

There was a mist rising from Lake Superior that Brita said was ethereal. You can see it in the short video she made, hoping her camera captured it.
