Joe Kirkish was probably the first guest photographer on the Pasty Cam when it began in 1998. So when Joe sent me an email with the subject line, “Going through my mostly wild garden; thought you’d like to see them”, I knew the photos would all be beauties, so I had to share them with all of you.
He really has the “eye” for capturing vivid photos, especially the up-close shots. I’m not usually partial to the color orange, but the two orange flowers in his assortment, the Tiger Lilies and the Japanese Lanterns are my favorites. One time when I visited Joe, I remarked about the Japanese Lanterns in his yard, so he dug up a couple for me to transplant in my flower garden. They did well at first, but after the winter months, they didn’t come back up. I was disappointed because they’re such a unique looking plant. May have to try them again some time.
We’re into the second week of August, so I figured it’s time for the August Upper Michigan Scenery video from Five Aces Media. Sit back and enjoy the beauty from around the U.P.
