Art Week in Marquette is an annual event that takes place all around the town with many artist exhibits, concerts, workshops, demonstrations and much more. It took place last week, with over 100 local artists, businesses, organizations and community partners joining together to make this happen.
Laurie Bashaw and her hubby, Ed Korpi were on hand at the Rosewood Walkway, which was decorated overhead this year with colorful lanterns. What a fun display and made even more fun with Laurie and Ed’s selfie and the artful display!
Other years the walkway has been decorated with umbrellas, butterflies and woodland trees and creatures. Today’s video features more than 128 umbrellas on display from 2017, again so colorful and fun!

Speaking of the Marquette area...
After a one year hiatus, the Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club is holding their Gem & Mineral Show on Saturday, August 7. In addition to the Show, the Club also holds the Cracker Barrel in the evening which this year features a lecture by none other than Nathalie Brandes (DrNat) talking about the LKAB iron mine in Kiruna, Sweden; it's geology, history, and innovations in mining technology. The Show and Cracker Barrel are free and open to the public.
