While Beth Jukuri was out and about recently, she spotted families of geese and their goslings enjoy a swim, not just one family, but four of them. After enlarging the first photo, I was able to count 30 babies between the four families. Now that is truly a gaggle of geese! I love how the parents swim front and back of them to make sure they all stay together.
Nature really makes up for the winter months and the gray, drab early springtime months with the bursts of green and the dandelions dotting the yards and fields... good for the bees to pollinate. Add in the cute baby critters like these goslings and I have to admit, even with the onset of bug season, spring is one of my favorite times of year.
I mentioned about the geese parents protecting their babies by swimming front and back and today’s video shows how they really do protect them. Note how the babies dive underwater during the skirmish and the “Dad” lures the riled up swan away from them all.

Don't be mess'n with Swan Butt! I heard a goose
riot today, a man was walking his dog behind 2
geese that were walking down the middle of the
road...sounded like all goose-heck brock loose.

That's quite a clutch.
Swans and geese are mortal enemies.
