Along with the snow last week, the temperatures dropped to freezing once again, but that didn’t stop Judy Byykkonen and friends from going outdoors to enjoy the Keweenaw and getting some exercise with good company included. The ladies headed out to the Maasto Hiihto trails near Hancock for a hike and look at the Swedetown Creek that runs alongside much of the trail there. In case you didn’t know, these trails are groomed for winter backcountry skiing use, but the 25 kilometers of trails remain available year-round for a variety of silent sport uses, like the hiking these Yooper gals enjoy.
On Monday, Bob Gilreath shared some photos of the Redpolls that were visiting his feeders. Once the snow fell again, he said his feeding station was “Raining Redpolls” and he captured this video to share as a follow-up, feeder film.
