Nancy Haun is a railfan extraordinaire around the L’Anse/Baraga area. Today’s photos are the Canadian National making the trip from the Summit, as it approaches the US41 bridge. The second shot shows the US41 bridge that we all travel over on our way to and from Marquette when driving from the Keweenaw. I had a hard time placing where this is, because I’ve never seen it from below like this.
The third photo was a treat for Nancy, capturing a shot of a beautiful Swan on the Spurr River as she was waiting to video the train. She said the geese and swans were in abundance and she even captured the Swans in her train video.
This is what Nancy had to say about her video:
“The Spurr River in Spurr Township is a short, but beautiful River that flows alongside the Railroad Tracks. It starts somewhere in Imperial Heights and flows into Beaufort Lake. It is another good spot to get some awesome train videos. The wind picked up during the day and ruined some sound but the horn still sounded awesome and the Swans and Geese made the catch fun! I noticed the cars seemed to be wobbling a lot, but they weren't actually. My camera compacts the scene and increases the movement, at least I think that's the answer!”
