I’m not sure if this is normal to be having such beautiful Aurora Borealis events several times a week this time of year, but whatever it is, I’m loving it. Thanks to Isaac Diener, both last week and this week, we get to enjoy nature’s light show in the skies around the Keweenaw. These shots were snapped Saturday evening on the Maasto Hiihto Ski Trails in Hancock around 10:30 pm. Isaac said this was the best show he’s seen in about two years. Can you imagine a night time ski with the Aurora Borealis lighting the way for you? Outstanding! We share a video from Shawn Stockman-Malone over at Lake Superior Photo in Marquette, today. This was an Aurora Borealis from a previous year that she captured. Shawn suggests that this amazing display is best viewed on a computer monitor (full screen) or on a TV. It includes the capture of rare blue nitrogen fringing at around 1:25 - a very distinct blue "spike" ripples through the curtain of lights. Simply stunning!

"Simply stunning" is spot on, Mary! 5 pix = 5 WOWs and again, the video..."Simply stunning!" One of the best I've seen so far.
