When it comes to views from Whitefish Point, you’d have a hard time beating Photography by Frances (Czapski). She comes around time and time again with great shots of Lake Superior like today’s sunrise scene. The glow is subtle at first, but it permeates the water, the splash of the wave and puts a glow on the ice chunks on the shoreline. My favorite, though, is Frances’ third shot, which she called, “Lake Superior Gold”. It really does look like gold, as the suns illumines that lacy looking ice. Great capture!
Frances also made today’s video - in January 2020. You can see how far behind we are in accumulated ice and snow this year, compared to her video. Not only that, but the wind and waves are causing a scene back then, too.
